Governance Operating Model
About this Work
Workday’s Global Services recently completed an organizational restructuring as a source of competitive differentiation. As part of this change, a shared services organization has been formed to serve the large and medium enterprise services businesses. And now a governance operating model must to be established for the new organization.
Additionally, the Global Services leadership team needs a clear definition of the engagement model between the shared service organization and its respective businesses. Specifically, services leadership needs to understand how their business makes new project requests and the day-to-day operational support they can expect from the shared service.
A newly created Global Services Governance (GSG) function has the mandate to implement a governance operating model that will streamline business operations and accelerate objectives. GSG needs to establish the overall charter, guidelines, intake and approval processes, and reporting mechanisms. Responsibilities also include simplifying business governance and improving effectiveness by eliminating redundancy within the professional services policies, processes and procedures and ensuring they are up to date, easily accessed and understood by target audiences.
